ComSat Mun II (Archive)

^^ Craft Information - Orbital Adjustment (9/8/15) ^^

After the first ComSat was sent to Mun it became immediately apparent that the supplied batteries were not enough, as engineers forgot to allow for a solar eclipse by Kerbin. This second ComSat was the first to make use of capacitor technology to store extra power for use during long night transits. Its transfer stage was also used as an impactor. It currently operates in an orbit of around 1,150km

After 4 months of drift due to suspended operations, the satellite only required an extremely small tweak to its orbital period once it had settled back to an optimal distance from ComSat Mun I on its own.
