Bill's team have arrived & are setting up for release. Contract wants ascent during sunset, which is coming up soon. Wx reported cloudy tho
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
too late now for Bill's team to launch for the required data, still mostly cloudy so they are also hanging out & will try again @ 3rd sunset
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
airship has relayed to us Bill & crew are standing down again, still holding out for clearer skies & will make one more attempt @ 4th sunset
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
glad we got 1 release today. Bill's crew still No Go, will try again tomorrow @ 2nd sunset while Bob preps low-alt units for later this wk
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
naught but clear blue sky over KSC right now. Bill's team reports the same for them, now that just has to hold until sunset in ~2 hours...

@KSA_MissionCtrl
scientists monitoring pollen have recorded an increase over past several days back to levels that caused health issues earlier this year
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
kerbs are recommended to stay indoors & use filtration masks outside. KB team up north have been notified, unsure of levels in that area
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
weather has held out 95km to the north & Bill just commed in to confirm release, encroaching clouds to the west should not affect ascent
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
we have acquisition of signal from the KerBalloon, rising at ~5m/s nominal ascent rate passing through 6.3km on its way up to a max 24.9km
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
great ascent all the way up, balloon has ruptured at <1kPa & will free fall back to Kerbin over the next 2min before chute deploy @ 1.5km
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
since the payload is coming down at night, Bill & crew will head out the following day cycle to collect it, relay airship will track landing
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
UTVs have tracked down the payload & are in the process of recovery, will then head back for KSC for arrival shortly after nightfall
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
rolling back into KSC, UTVs will turnaround & prep for rollout again tomorrow to possibly assist w/low-alt launches. Release img earlier
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
here is yesterday's release. Depending on which way the wind is blowing, UTVs may not be needed to recover balloons launched from sea
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
medical checkups have given Bill & his crew all clean bills of health, pollen levels must have remained lower up to the north thankfully
