bit.ly/KerBalloonProg… has two contracts it will satisfy as part of a science expedition that will sail to the furthest body of water, which is actually closer than you would think except for land getting in the way

tomorrow the High-Altitude KerBalloon crew (the program has added workers and split into two separate teams) will set off aboard a MSV for a 3-4 day journey to their research location, over 2,000km of sea travel. By air it would only be about half that distance

high-altitude KerBalloon mission is still ongoing - no news is good news. They will have by now released & recovered one balloon and should be sailing further north, where they will release the second. They are due to arrive back in port at Umbarg on the 28th

although scheduled to return earlier today, no sign of the High-Alt KB mission is not yet cause for any alarm. Long voyages like this can be beset by storms delaying passage. Expedition has a week of spare food to last them at sea, and can live off the land far longer if ashore

high-altitude KerBalloon team has pulled back into port at Umbarg. Nasty weather delayed their travel but did not cause any damage. Although they failed to recover one balloon, spare parts allowed them to release the 2nd, which was recovered successfully
