low-altitude KerBalloon crew has a new contract to revisit an arid region they last sampled back in 2017 (kerbalspace.agency/?p=5852) next week for updated readings, making the ~300km traversal by UTV to bit.ly/Sector_RS-D83

low-altitude KerBalloon crew have departed for their 3-day trek out to bit.ly/Sector_RS-D83. Since the whole trip is near the maximum ~600km range of 3 UTVs, we have an airship at Kravass ready to fly down and supply them with fuel after they arrive for the trip back

Kravass is too far away to pick up the low-altitude KerBalloon signal over the horizon but the team should have made their release by now. They will be doing some additional field work on the ground before heading back to KSC tomorrow

rolling back into KSC just after sunset the low-altitude KerBalloon team reports a routine and successful mission, although they did have a close brush with a sinkhole on the way home & one crew member required a visit to the med center for a fungal infection
