UTV crews are faring well out in the Grasslands. Low terrain means they have a comm balloon to launch for regular check-ins thru Umbarg

sun is up, report from the launch site is mostly cloudy conditions but w/ clear skies following & so they will release the balloon in ~30min

we have launch of the KerBalloon, heading up for 24.9km. Will begin gathering temperature data in the upper atmosphere past 19.6km

still awaiting AOS here but Lymun is tracking the balloon out to sea so UTV crew are packing up to begin driving - heading to Umbarg not KSC

rooftop VAB dish, now fully commissioned and operational, has picked up the KerBalloon clearing the horizon at 14km - no signs of icing

envelope failure at just over 22km thx to some small amount of icing. Chutes armed, Bob reports Lymun is in position for recovery, seas calm

Lymun has recovered the payload & is on its way back to port. UTVs are sticking to their scheduled check-ins, reporting no issues

arriving shortly before sunset, the UTV crews will use the direct access tunnel from Umbarg to KSC to complete their journey overnight
