new contract for bit.ly/GenesisProgram will have Jeb fly out to the West Shore Desert to put the Atmospheric Fluid Spectro-Variometer's new sensors to work measuring sand particles aloft to help improve forecast models

Cdr Val has cleared Civvie #2 ready for flight, Cpt Jeb is leaving Flight Control after his briefing to begin preflight for his mission today out to bit.ly/Area_J34K

Jeb grabbed a shot for us as he prepped for taxi out towards Runway27 for takeoff, pretty great day for flying with high cloud ceiling and winds calm
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
no issues on departure, Jeb is climbing and making his way westward, will run a loop around the West Shore Desert collecting data at 2km ASL

making for the desert just beyond that next rise of highlands Jeb has fallen below the horizon out of contact. We expect to hear back from him within an hour

@KSA_MissionCtrl
relayed through Umbarg we have contact with Jeb again as he swings around the mountains still at 2km, opting not to climb into colder air to go over them

@KSA_MissionCtrl
nearing 30km out Jeb is getting set for his descent, winds still calm with an occasional light breeze so Flight has cleared him for the direct approach to Runway09

@KSA_MissionCtrl
a good approach, Jeb managed to not almost run off the end of the runway this time & is taxiing back to the HAB then grabbing some food while scientists pull & analyze the instrument data for his debrief later today

debrief complete, mission successful - scientists will be applying this data of sand in the atmosphere to their weather forecast models. This region could play a more important role in our local weather than previously realized (picture looking south)
