Specialists Bob & Bill travel to Ockr once again to test data relay through to KSC, this time launching from land over Zone 8CH2-L to ensure line of sight to Ockr during ascent

Umbarg keothermal plant is undergoing emergency maintenance this weekend starting ~30min from now, still recovering from extensive damage due to the Monolith Incident. All efforts to avoid a major outage have prevailed until now. We hope to receive power again by Monday

@KSA_MissionCtrl
we have power restored to KSA HQ here in Umbarg, but full utilities are still coming back online slowly to ensure repairs are holding. Due to its transmission distance, KSC won't have power sent to it until later today

@KSA_MissionCtrl
power has been restored to KSC, what could be done today by daylight & temporary lighting has still been significant across the campus. We expect no delays in Mk5 assembly as long as Umbarg power repairs remain permanent as planned

Bob & Bill are happy to have power back to aid them in assembling a high-altitude KerBalloon for release later this week from an overland location that will definitely be in range of Ockr's radio tower this time

Bob, Bill & crew completed their balloon yesterday and have shipped out today for Ockr. Yes, bit.ly/Zone_8CH2-L is reachable by land traversal, airships could have dropped fuel for UTVs but the trip would have taken too long to be worthwhile
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
roughly an hour ahead of us, Bob has left Ockr at sunrise now to head for the release site (bit.ly/Zone_8CH2-L) while Bill remains behind to keep an eye on the telemetry relay & help with any technical issues
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
covering the 106km in just over an hour, the airship has landed to deploy Bob & his crew, now setting up for release under perfectly clear skies
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
airship is back aloft to serve as comm relay, we have notification that balloon has been released. Landing again to pick up the crew it will pace the balloon along its journey at the mercy of the wind. Bill is awaiting acquisition of signal at Ockr
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
we have telemetry showing here at KSC, routed through ground fiber cables from Ockr after balloon cleared the horizon at 1.2km and was able to see Ockr radio tower's receivers. Bill & comm techs will now have ~1h15m to run tests & troubleshoot any issues as balloon rises
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
we have pressure failure of the KerBalloon envelope at max altitude of 24.9km - great ascent, a first for collecting both low and high-altitude science data with a single balloon. No data relay issue reported either. Recovery ops getting underway shortly
Kerbal Space Agency
@KSA_MissionCtrl
Bob reports they have the payload recovered and are on their way back to Ockr. He and Bill will be back at KSC late today, delivering the science data on their way through Sheltered Rock
