bit.ly/KerBalloonProg⦠have finalized a contract to carry out two releases over land. The crew will use UTVs and an airship from Sheltered Rock will resupply them. This will be the longest overall traversal to date but having not done any recently they are looking forward to it

low-altitude KerBalloon caravan departed today to begin their journey to bit.ly/Zone_88TN-K, which will take 10-12 hours of travel time broken up over today and tomorrow. Airships traveling between Sheltered Rock & Umbarg will allow us to relay messages

low-altitude KB crew have recovered their first balloon and have been resupplied via airship from Sheltered Rock with their second balloon and more fuel/food to begin the journey to their next release point, arriving tomorrow

having just been resupplied once again as they pass south of Sheltered Rock, the low-altitude KB crew are continuing on their way home. Perfect weather greeted them for release earlier today, and the payload was recovered without issue

a large rainstorm and the ensuing soggy terrain delayed the low-altitude KerBalloon team on their 657km traversal back to KSC but all three UTVs have finally pulled back into campus after pulling each other out of the mud several times. Glad to have everyone back safely!
