Progeny Mk6 Block I Flight 6 (Radiation Field Study 7)

In order to possibly help lend credence to various theories on the hazardous radiation region above Kerbin, this rocket is sent up in the middle of the night cycle as opposed to our usual daytime launches

who's ready for a night launch?? A Progeny Mk6 Block I will go up shortly after the next Ascension Mk1-I on 7/20 @ 20:51 UTC to test a theory related to the hazardous radiation region

behold our first photo from space! Booster cam is capturing video but we don't have enough power to spare to beam that back so it will send us still images instead at preset points along the trajectory. First one is from 80km, looking back down towards KSC

post-launch activities winding down, 2nd Wx balloon recovered offshore. Progeny launch base will be returned to the pad today. The earliest we would expect to hear from the airship would be late tonight, as it still has not even gotten halfway to the search area as of right now

the Progeny Mk6 for Friday's launch has been stacked vertical in the VAB, the two following rockets have all their parts delivered and are already partially assembled. Some part sharing will be required so 3rd rocket will need to wait for 1st to be recovered

launch crews and controllers are working hard to get things turned around and ready for the Progeny MK6 Block I launch tomorrow. We've had shorter times between launches before but never for two completely different vehicles, which adds some logistical challenges

both deployments are now more dynamic - parachute will now deploy either below 1.5km or even sooner if it detects speed has dropped low enough to be safe. Airbrakes will begin to deploy once they have detected dynamic pressure has begun to drop during re-entry

~3.5min to apokee, passing through 450km and still no increase in radiation levels. Normally we would have seen an uptick begin around 340km so this is looking like an exciting success for predictions... or we've just missed the region of higher radiation entirely somehow?
