Deuce and Civvie are both in the HAB today so the Atmospheric Fluid Spectro-Variometer can be swapped. Civvie is best for shorter-range missions that require the instrument since it can't easily go fast enough to damage it while it's collecting air

poor weather last day cycle and a poor forecast for the next has scrubbed the Civvie mission for today, Flight Officer Aldeny will stand down until tomorrow after 2nd sunrise

Flight Officer Aldeny is standing down this day cycle. Weather forecast for after 3rd sunrise is looking somewhat promising with a 60% chance of favorable flight conditions both here and over the target area. We'll get a meteo update from some airships in a few hours

weather is still on the iffy side but it's good enough and the researchers really need this data. Latest pollen cycle ends this week & mission has already been delayed past prime collection window thanks to C7 shut down. Aldy is ready on Rwy01 for departure

terrain has blocked comms as Aldy flies behind the highlands to the northwest enroute to bit.ly/Area_ATM-11. He'll hug the ground then climb in a spiral over the target location while collecting air samples, spiral down and up several times out to a distance of 25km

we've been hailed early by Aldy making his way back after weather took a turn for the worse. He still managed to gather enough data to make the flight worthwhile however, so that's good news. Controllers have cleared him to approach & land Rwy09

bit of a bumpy descent and landing but Aldy is back on the ground taxiing to the HAB. Here's a photo sent to us from the wing cam as he cleared the mountains under heavy cloud cover, leaving the rain & poorer visibility behind him out on the plains

we are all still reeling from the events of yesterday. Aldeny will be a sorely missed ray of sunshine around campus - his energetic personality could motivate anyone. Altho it's hard, we must push on in his memory. Our Ops Summary has details on that: kerbalspace.agency/?p=9083
