5 minutes to ignition for our second hot fire test! We will run the engine for 120 seconds (practically a full burn) while throttling straight from minimum to full power and then below minimum power at the end to induce flameout
1: it extends above 580km near the equator
2: it gets "fuzzy" around the edges with a larger area extending closer to the surface
3: it stops entirely if you travel south far enough

call/response continues between Bill & the pad crew as he manipulates the manual controls & they confirm movement. Hopefully tho Bill will not have to touch them at all during ascent
Here comes history? Stand by!
Jeb: "Bill the water is freezing out there."
Bill: "I'm in a space suit!!"
5min warning horn sounding across KSC as ignition system goes hot. Pad is cleared, no Flight Termination System is enabled - TWR @ sea level is less than 1 so if engine vibrations compromise ground clamps for some reason the stage would just fall to the pad
Viklun stage has been refueled and brought to ignition readiness for its second restart/third firing attempt in 5 minutes. The engine will drain the tank dry, performing more throttle tests to collect additional data required based on previous testing

✨50th LIFT OFF✨
The 8th Ascension Mk1 takes to the sky, carrying new scientific instruments up into space! Clearing the tower, the rocket will roll onto launch heading and then begin to pitch downrange as it throttles up to full power
