we got in a few flights this year before the Genesis program was shuttered. Fixed-wing aircraft development remains alive with C7 Aerospace Division and missions like those previously flown by Cdr Val & Cpt Jeb are now handled by a growing pool of commercial aviators

quarterly aerial collection of pollen data around the KSC region has been carried out by a contract pilot using the Civvie previously operated by us. This will not show up in the Ops Tracker but we are glad that scientific research continues even w/o our direct involvement

still our favorite photo from the Genesis program, Captain Jeb gives his enthusiastic approval after his first flight of the Civvie's revamped design that went on to production for private & commercial use today. He of course owns one as well

Genesis ended as our 2nd-most successful and profitable program behind KerBalloon, giving us 33,413 funds in net income that will now go towards rocket development. Here are some more impressive stats from nearly 4 years of operation

Jeb taxis back to the HAB past the public tarmac, which is helping to support KSC through hangar and parking fees. Although we don't directly benefit from such income, the money does support our own interests in overall maintenance of the space complex

we've already dismissed our lead mechanic, who was supposed to oversee cable replacement of the Civvie after the Deuce incident but he lost track of the work order and ultimately forgot to carry it out. Poor record keeping by his crew meant no one realized it hadn't been done

Val has been released from the medical center with some bandages for her face and no serious injuries. Civvie has been hauled back to the HAB where engineers are starting to dig into the engine to see what might have gone wrong during the early ascent phase of the flight

although she was on standby all day, we are forced to cancel Val's flight today due to high winds and low cloud cover first over KSC then inland over the areas she had to fly around. Controlled flight into terrain is not a thing to take lightly! We'll try again tomorrow

Val was supposed to take the Civvie out for an atmospheric sampling mission today but this has been delayed until next week since we are actually almost out of money for our operational budget, but will have income again soon thanks to our supporters on bit.ly/KSA_Patreon

ahead of the new commercial airport expansion, both turf runways have been decommissioned so work can begin to create the raised ground upon which will reside a new hangar tarmac, ATC tower, taxiways and a new runway. They have served us well!

#OTD in 2018 we announced the completion of our newly-paved and lit runway. Campus admin is planning to add a N/S paved runway along with additional hangars & tarmac space in 2020 for an expansion that will allow commercial traffic to use KSC as a regional airport for Umbarg

good report from the HAB, which is buzzing with activity as the Dhumla continues its structural assembly while the Progeny Mk1-B is also being mounted on the tail of the Deuce & today's Civvie begins its science instrument integration

we have confirmation from Flight Director Lanalye that all systems are GO over at Mission/Launch Control! Monday will see more drills, flight prep and a Deuce flight for final system checks before repeating the release rehearsal that was interrupted back in August

Tongjess has picked up a Civvie on radar approaching from Kravass but it was expected, the pilot filed the flight plan with us last week. She's contacted Tongjess and will be given regular vectors to stay clear of the ascent corridor. Happy viewings!

last week the Air Safety Administration released a final report on a Civvie crash that occurred this past January at Ockr General Airport. Verdict was operator error due to inexperience flying at high altitudes. Thankfully only injuries no deaths were involved

Ockr General Airport (OKG) had its opening ceremony today. It is the same overall design as SRG and is the highest airport to be constructed. The Deuce will make a visit next week after it stops over at SRG for this weekend

Sheltered Rock General Airport (SRG) was officially opened today. Civvies meant for customers there will begin to get ferried over from KGA as early as this weekend. The last new airport, at Ockr, is preparing for its own opening ceremony next week

we're back to full operational status here at KSC! We have a lot to look forward to in 2018 and over the past week at KSA HQ many meetings were had to finalize our general timeline for the year. Here's what to expect:

great work getting things organized at HQ so far this week, R&D and science labs getting back to work at KSC today while HAB and VAB are still completing their inspections - we expect to get the "all clear" tomorrow so we can finally kick off 2018 operations full swing next week!

KSA HQ in Umbarg is once again a hive of activity as all staff return from holiday break to get everything in order to return to KSC this week. Full regular ops will begin next week as building surveyors need more time to finish their inspections started last month

Civvie #1 completed its hardware control modifications today to allow the onboard computer to manipulate the control surfaces. Tomorrow the software will be tested on the ground, with airborne tests the next step if all goes okay

the 31st Civvie has rolled out of the Kravass factory today since production began back in May - 28 are still flying. C7 will up their production to 10/mo starting early next year when there will be more airports to hold them

being a Kravass native, Commander Val is very much a local celebrity and has been spending just as much time attending events and giving TV interviews as she has working with the KGA flight instructors and on her own flying

Val was not happy with her approach & landing yesterday, has decided to stay at Kravass for the week for some pattern practice & also to talk to the flight instructors about what she & Jeb have been working on for multi-crew operations. And sign autographs.

CTG-432(E) impact expedition found no direct evidence of impact but along the shore is clear sign of large waves that went several hundred meters inland. Vaporized water kicked up into the atmosphere could have helped cause this week's spate of bad weather
